the last stop..

I am sitting here, waiting for my last stop… watching my memories accelerating before my eyes, like watching the world from a moving train… trees… cities and crowds… mountains and meadows…. ruins and barren lands. They all keep coming one after another…. nothing seems in common between any of them except the beholder, I am the only thing connecting all these odds together…. As if all this time I was a spectator to my own life, I was sitting in that corner all the time watching… just like watching the world from a train…. And after all, I think I've enjoyed watching… this is what I was made for…

_{I was born and raised in the Egyptian city Alexandria, since my early childhood I had the tendency to isolate myself from my surroundings and live in my own world, my best moments as far as I can remember were when I gazed at the sky at night all alone by myself, thinking of how is the world like there on the other side, trying to imagine the vast distance between us and these worlds, or when I sat on that little rocky hill of that island in the Mediterranean coast of Alexandria looking at the horizon, closing my eyes and feeling the wind blasting my face and listening to the roaring sea under me.

Although I came across photography later in my life, It completely changed me and the way I see the world. AS soon as I realized the huge difference between photography, the art, and taking a photo of something, I was amazed by this new world that suddenly opened its gate to me.

I prefer to look at the world through the viewfinder of my camera, which is, in a way, what I have been doing all my life, watching the world around me. Photography is my way to create my own world, the world that I always dreamed about...
